U.S. Nuclear Weapons in Europe

NRDC's nuclear team pieced together evidence demonstrating that the United States is still deploying approximately 200 nuclear weapons in Europe (down from 480 in 2005, see report). The continuing presence of these weapons irritates relations with Russia, undermines global efforts to dissuade other nations from developing nuclear weapons, and impedes NATO's post-Cold War evolution.
